Dr. Pomerants specializes in robotic surgery for gallbladder and hernia repair. He also performs surgery for dialysis catheter placement, colon and appendix related surgery. He provides surgical treatment for breast cancer and other skin related procedures. He has special interest in diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. Dr. Pomerants also does breast cancer surgeries and other skin related procedures. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Pomerants is also part of the staff of Select Specialty Hospital. He is a fellow in the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Pomerants is a graduate of Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine. He completed his surgical residency at Riverside Methodist Hospital where he served as chief resident. He has over 24 years of general surgery experience and has been named in America’s Top
Physicians 2010-2017.
Stephen Glatz, MD
General Surgery / Robotic Surgery
Dr. Glatz is dedicated to treating a broad spectrum of general surgical conditions. He has special interest in the gastrointestinal system for minimally invasive and robotic procedures. He has performed numerous robotic procedures including colon, gallbladder and hernia surgeries. Dr. Glatz performs screening and diagnostic colonoscopy procedures as well as upper endoscopy procedures. He has received several patient satisfaction recognition’s at Dublin Methodist Hospital. Dr. Glatz is board certified by the American College of Surgeons. After earning a biochemistry degree from the University of Dayton, he received his medical degree from West Virginia University. He completed general surgery residency at the University of Louisville in 2007, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Glatz served as a faculty member at the University of Louisville Department of Surgery before joining Columbus Surgical Associates
in 2008.
Jason Shoemaker, DO
General Surgery / Robotic Surgery
Dr. Shoemaker specializes in gastroesophageal reflux, hiatal hernia care and correction. He has special interest in robotic assisted abdominal wall and complex hernia repair. He special has performed numerous open, laparoscopic and robotic procedures for hernia repair, colon cancer, gallbladder and thyroid diseases. Dr. Shoemaker performs screening and diagnostic colonoscopy procedures as well as upper endoscopy procedures. He is board certified by the American Board of Osteopathic Surgery. After graduating Summa Cum Laude with Bachelor of Science Degree from Western Carolina University he received his medical degree from Lincoln Memorial University. He received awards for anatomic dissection and teaching while chief resident. Dr. Shoemaker is currently a national speaker and an observation site for robotic surgical procedures. He joined Columbus Surgical Associates in 2017.
Gregory Vereb, M.D.
General Surgery / Robotic Surgery
Dr. Gregory Vereb is a specialist in minimally invasive general surgery incorporating robotic, laparoscopic and endoscopic techniques when appropriate. Dr. Vereb also incorporates Robotic assisted surgery in select cases. Dr. Vereb is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Davidson College, Dr. Vereb received his medical degree from Wake Forest School of Medicine. He completed general surgery residency at Riverside Methodist Hospital, where he served as chief resident. He completed a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery at The University of Texas.
Dr. Vereb’s practice is dedicated to treating a broad spectrum of general surgical conditions. He has special interests in surgery of the gastrointestinal system and minimally invasive procedures. He is also trained in the performance of advanced gastrointestinal endoscopy and colonoscopy.
